WATCH: Roger Federer Sends a Surprise Message to Alan Jones

Australian radio host Alan Jones announced retirement from his famous 2GB show after a 35-year career. Many sporting legends recorded a special message for Alan after hearing his retirement news. Tennis great Roger Federer also sent a video message for Jones.

Jones hosts a popular Sydney breakfast radio program on radio station 2GB. He is widely popular for his conservative views on his show. The popularity of his radio program has made him a highly paid and influential media personality in Australia.

However, Alan Jones has had more than his fair share of controversies. His on-air conduct received adverse findings from Australia’s media regulators. Moreover, Alan has also been sued many times for defamation. However, it didn’t stop him and he continued to work for years. But after the doctor’s advice, he decided to quit his job at 2GB this month. Consequently, Alan received surprise messages from all around the world.

“Alan it’s Roger here. I wanted to wish you all the very best for what’s to come and many congratulations on an amazing 35-year career in the media career. Take care and all the best,” said Federer in an Instagram video.

“A lovely surprise. I’m very overwhelmed by the messages of support leading up to my last day on the radio,” Jones replied to Federer.

Earlier, Track and field great Usain Bolt also recorded a special message for Alan on his retirement.

Despite his controversies, the Alan Jones Breakfast Show will certainly be missed by the fans from all around the world. Nevertheless, the 79-year-old Alan will continue to present on Sky News and write for News Corp publications after his retirement.
