“The tradition remains and the President of the Republic will hand over the trophy to the winner of the Portuguese Cup at the end of the game between Benfica and FC Porto tonight in Coimbra”, says the FPF in a statement.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will be accompanied by the President of the FPF, Fernando Gomes, and by the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, João Paulo Rebelo, the three of whom “followed the testing protocol for covid-19 in order to also be able to fulfill the tradition ”.
The Cup and medal ceremony takes place on a stage specially set up for the purpose of the turf at the Cidade de Coimbra Stadium.
The final of the 80th edition of the Portuguese Cup will be played behind closed doors, at 8:45 pm, at the Cidade de Coimbra Stadium, and will be refereed by Artur Soares Dias, from the Porto Football Association.
