FC Porto won the Portuguese football cup for the 17th time today, beating Benfica 2-1, achieving the 'double', after having already become national champion.
In an empty Coimbra Municipal Stadium, due to covid-19, FC Porto, reduced to 10 players since the 38th minute, by Luis Díaz's expulsion, scored by Chancel Mbemba, in the 47th and 57th minute, with Benfica reducing by Carlos Vinícius, at 84, in the penalty spot.
The ‘dragons’, who haven’t won the Cup since 2010/11, when they had made their last ‘double,’ added the 17th trophy and equaled Sporting, nine behind Benfica, who is the trophy record holder.
