THE Penacova Chamber will proceed with the reduction or exemption from the payment of water, sanitation and solid waste bills while the emergency state, was announced today.

“Among these measures, there is the possibility of reducing or exempting, during the national emergency period, the payment of bills for water, sanitation and solid urban waste”, says the mayor in a statement.
Humberto Oliveira recalls that the municipality of Penacova, in the district of Coimbra, is “in the process of leaving” the Intermunicipal Company of Pinhal Interior Norte (APIN), whose board of directors was chaired by himself.
“It will be proposed to the company, as soon as the decision to be taken” is confirmed “at a meeting of the Municipal Assembly, on Friday,” that no billing be issued to consumers in January “in the municipality.
In the note, it is stated that “the billing responsibility will fall to the municipality of Penacova, with conditions, in this period of national emergency, for a proposal to exempt or reduce the payment of the three services”: supply of water for human consumption, sanitation and collection municipal waste.
