What if, in the months when the country was isolated, there had been no music or dance or words? If the cinema had disappeared from the screens? Had the painting left the canvas blank?
It was precisely that question – “What if we all ran out of culture?” – which served as a motto for several vigils that took place yesterday in several Portuguese cities. Coimbra was no exception.
Throughout the day, professionals from culture and the arts passed in front of the Regional Directorate for Culture of the Center to “give visibility” to the struggle of years in a sector whose weaknesses the pandemic only “made more evident”.
