Our Last Game – Coimbra Region has 23 “Golden Quality” beaches


The region of Coimbra this year has 23 beaches with the distinction “Gold Quality” assigned by Quercus.
According to the list of the environmental association, the district of Figueira da Foz stands out in the district, which has 10 award-winning beaches. They are Buarcos, Cabedelo Sul, Cabo Mondego, Costa de Lavos, Cova Gala, Figueira da Foz, Leirosa, Murtinheira, Quiaios and, finally, Tamargueira.
The municipality of Cantanhede was the second most awarded, with three “Golden Quality” beaches: Olhos de Fervença, Palheirão and Tocha.
As for coastal beaches, the municipality of Mira follows. Praia de Mira and Poço da Cruz were distinguished.
Moving on to inland beaches, both the municipality of Arganil and Penacova have two bathing areas with this designation. These are the river beaches of Piódão and Secarias – Peneda da Cascalheira as well as Reconquinho and Vimieiro, respectively.
The remaining four are Palheiros and Zorro (Coimbra), Peneda / Pego Escuro (Góis), Bogueira (Lousã) and Alvôco das Várzeas (Oliveira do Hospital).
