Since about the time the pandemic was declared last March, the hypothesis that dogs could be a great help in detecting Covid-19 has been tested. There is still no definitive conclusion about the real contribution of these animals to this end, but authorities around the world do not lower their arms, as can be seen from the sessions taking place at the Alford National Veterinary School in Paris.
There were several vials with traces of sweat from people infected with the new coronavirus, so that canines can train their skills and learn to sniff the virus from a distance. Then, service officers cover some objects with sample content, challenging the dogs to live up to expectations. But spoiling them always, a lot, throughout the training period.
